ResiBridge is looking for a Network Deployment Technician to work on team and solo missions to support the Network Deployment Team by racking, stacking, and cabling networking cabinets; pulling, terminating, and testing copper and fiber optic cables; configuring and provisioning off-the-shelf wireless PTP and PTMP radios; and resolving network performance issues. You will work with switches, routers, network management systems, wireless radios, and other IP network devices. A typical day can sometimes be physically demanding, but you’ll be willing to participate in field deployments that are often off-site and occasionally off-hours. This position will be based in New York City but willing to travel, approximately 20%.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in design sessions to develop an understanding of how we approach the design process, how to read design documents, how to cable a customer property, and how to configure and provision various network components
- Install, Terminate, Test, and Troubleshoot various types of cable (Coax, Ethernet and Fiber)
- Configure routers, switches, wireless radios, and other IP network devices in preparation for their deployment to customer sites
- Responsible for installing internet service for residential and commercial subscribers
- Track, prioritize, and handle technical activities from start of build to customer-ready
- Troubleshoot and correlate event/alarm events and resolve trouble tickets, including outage and network issues
- Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to make critical decisions on the fly
- Some work shifts outside of normal business hours, performing tasks that can only be accomplished outside of business hours
- Interact with customers, landlords, superintendents, and property managers
- Liaison between internal departments (customer service/support)
- Help subscribers get their devices online
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-3 years of fiber optic, Coax, Ethernet or similar cabling experience
- Ready to adapt and learn new technologies in a constantly evolving industry
- Highly available, able to use your phone to access websites and your camera to send important job information
- Read, understand and follow work orders/prints/scopes
- Flexible working schedule
- Familiarity working with hand and power tools
- Comfortable working in confined spaces (basements, electrical closets, shaftways, etc.) Capable of lifting up to 75 Ibs
- Capable working aloft (ladders/rooftops), valid drivers license
- Friendly and personable - You will be the face of Resibridge
