Position Overview & Responsibilities:
The Intersect Group is hiring a logistics quality specialist for a leading automotive manufacturer in Greenville, SC. This is a contract position, with a set duration of up to 3 years. This position requires up to 90% travel across the United States. No international travel is foreseen. This is an A-Shift Position.
The Logistics Quality Specialist II will be responsible for managing 10-15 suppliers (On Average) and focus on solving issues affecting supplier production or industrialization for upcoming projects at new supplier facilities. They will also provide onsite supplier logistics support. The Logistics Quality Specialist may be required to come in early/stay late until the issue is resolved. 90% of the time in this position will be spent at various supplier facilities.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Represent and maintain professional relationships with Suppliers, especially in high-stress situations.
- Establishes working networks with peers and Management to ensure assignment effectiveness.
- Provides transparency via assigning measures to Suppliers, by maintaining a list of open points and creating PowerPoint presentations.
- Organizes effective meetings, provides directions, and follows through to ensure measures are met.
- In the event of an emergency, may be required to assume the Supplier Logistics tasks: Logistics Planning, Production Planning, Material Control, Inventory analysis, Logistics Manager, or any other Logistics task as delegated by the Section Manager, Supply Chain Quality/Planning.
Required Skills & Experience:
- REQUIRED EDUCATION: BA/BS Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Psychology OR equivalent of 4 years experience in a related field (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 4+ Years Experience in Logistics including issue resolution in the following areas- Supply Chain Planning, Material Requirements Planning, Material Control, Production Control, Warehouse Operations, Lean Manufacturing, Returnable Container Management, JIS WoW, and Transportation Planning
- 3+ Years of Experience working with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel Application Knowledge
- 3+ Years of Knowledge of SAP, SCQ Ample, LPKM, GIS
- Previous Experience working onsite with various suppliers, spearheading logistics improvements, and developing successful working relationships
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Automotive and Auditing Experience is HIGHLY Preferred
Work Hours:
- A Shift Position, with the occasional need to come in early or stay late (separate B-Shift Team that would support night shift)
- 90% Travel to Various US Locations (Travel is primarily Tuesday-Friday) No International Travel Foreseen
- Saturday Shift Required Every 6 months
