The Sr. Data Architect/DBA is responsible for the integrity, scalability, and dependability of LSCC’s hosted data warehouse, and for database administration services across the organization. The core responsibilities of this position are the ability to oversee and coordinate support for Microsoft SQL Server, develop work pipelines using a Hybrid Microsoft Stack, expanding the organization’s ability to utilize the Microsoft Power Platform, and resolving functional and performance issues by conducting tuning and optimization of all data platforms. Sr. Data Architect/DBA will collaborate with employees at all levels within the organization and must be able to maintain professional working relationships and provide excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- In partnership with IT stakeholders, provide strategic and tactical mechanisms for optimal database performance, and establish pipelines in LSCC’s data platform to support efficient development and production environments.
- Conduct analysis of dataset, data needs assessment, data acquisition and ETL into our hosted data warehouse.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database problems using data modeling techniques to ensure consistency across teams and to meet integration and performance expectations.
- Build data ETL processes to facilitate meaningful and efficient reporting from a single source of truth.
- Function as a Release Manager and owns the migration process from Development to Production.
- Monitor the performance of data warehouse to ensure its integrity to be used by BI Developers for report creation and utilization.
- In partnership with IT Engineering teams, determine schedule for product/server upgrade and ensure a seamless rollout.
- Maintain compliance with corporate quality assurance policy and required documentation including main points, issues, and key decisions.
- Design and document the general functional requirements and detailed technical specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:
- 5+ years of experience as a DBA.
- 2-3 years proven experience of managing a highly available SQL backend.
- 2-3 years proven experience in implementing new features/solutions to an existing environment.
- 5+ years developing and maintaining ETL processes.
- Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:
- 10 years of experience implementing DBA best practices at an organizational level.
- Experience with Snowflake in a managed and non-managed environment.
- Experience administrating the Power Platform (PowerBI Premium Capacity, Licensing, etc…)
- Experience with virtual database management solutions (I.E. Nutanix NDB)
