Our Challenge:
As a Lead Java Developer, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. You will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Lead and guide the design and development of scalable, high-quality Java applications. Set technical standards and best practices for design and development.
- Architecture Development: Develop architectural blueprints and lead the implementation of large-scale systems. Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across the entire product.
- Code Enhancement with GitHub Copilot: Utilize GitHub Copilot to streamline coding processes, improve code quality, and accelerate feature development. Train and mentor team members on optimizing their workflows with GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted coding tools.
- Software Design and Development: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code. Address performance bottlenecks and ensure responsiveness of applications.
- Advanced Technology Integration: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and integrate them into the development process where appropriate. Advocate for and implement software development best practices, including Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to meet business needs. Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to programming and documentation policies.
Requirements:
You are:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in Java development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong architectural and design experience with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot and other AI-driven development tools.
- Expertise in modern Java frameworks like Spring Boot, Micronaut, or Quarkus.
- Proficiency in microservices architecture, containers, and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience with continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) and automated testing frameworks.
- Contributions to open-source projects or public GitHub repositories.
- Certifications in Java, Cloud, or Architecture are a plus.
