Human Resources Generalist:
Job Summary: HR Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of human resources functions to support the organization’s goals and objectives. This role involves managing the day-to-day HR activities, including employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Generalist will collaborate with various departments to ensure HR practices align with the overall business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and resolution on HR-related issues.
- Promote a positive work environment and maintain effective employee relations.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Provide employees with information and support regarding their benefits options and enrollments.
Performance Management:
- Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on performance-related issues.
Compliance:
- Ensure the company’s HR policies and practices comply with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR legal requirements and make recommendations for policy updates as needed.
HR Administration:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases.
- Prepare and process HR-related documents, such as offer letters, employment contracts, and termination paperwork.
Training and Development:
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee training programs.
- Identify opportunities for employee development and coordinate relevant training sessions.
Employee Engagement:
- Support employee engagement initiatives and activities to foster a positive organizational culture.
- Conduct employee surveys and analyze results to recommend improvements.
Other Duties:
- Provide general HR support and assistance to the HR team and other departments as needed.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives to support the HR function and overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in an HR Generalist role or similar HR capacity.
- Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent Excel Skills is a MUST.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Training and Development Experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
- Experience in employee relations and benefits administration.
- Familiarity with recruiting processes and best practices.
