About the Job: Our Sandy, UT site is seeking a Manufacturing Manager that will lead catheter and component manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will work directly with all levels of the organization. The primary responsibilities will be to ensure manufacturing demand/through-put is met, resource allocation is managed, and capacity planning is established. This position will also work with Engineering and other departments to support the development of new products into a manufacturable state.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Leading Area Supervisors and R&D Technicians by establishing expectations, writing and delivering performance reviews, mentoring, and providing opportunities for growth
- Providing hands-on leadership by working on the manufacturing floor to learn processes and technical nature of catheter and component manufacturing
- Developing relationships and working closely with manufacturing support associates (other leaders, engineers, QA, maintenance, HR, etc.)
- Developing goals and metrics for manufacturing area that align to site, division, and corporate strategies and objectives
- Rewarding and recognizing individuals and teams for accomplishments
- Resolving performance issues and conflict in a positive manner, utilizing all appropriate resources
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality system, and regulatory requirements
- Supporting and driving the completion of Non-Conformance Resolutions (NCRs) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs)
- Managing manufacturing documentation and Change Control
- Ensuring completion of necessary training of employees as required
- Communicating appropriate business information and progress to key performance metrics
- Establishing and executing cost reduction and efficiency opportunities
- Providing continuous-improvement efforts and tools to foster a lean manufacturing environment
- Interacting with and supporting research and development teams to ensure manufacturability of new processes, components, and products
- Assisting with hiring decisions for the Catheter Team
- Supporting the implementation of BOM’s and Items into ERP System
- Performing other related duties as assigned by management
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Management, Industrial Engineering, other related technical discipline, or operations discipline. Note: Relevant work experience in manufacturing management may be an adequate substitute for formal education.
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to develop strategic initiatives and plans to meet business goals
- Experience with lean manufacturing tools and ability to choose the correct tool for each situation
- Experience in a regulated environment preferred.
- Ability driving a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Computer skills required:
- Windows operating system in a networked environment
- Microsoft Office
