This role requires daily officing in Bolyard's Birmingham location.
About the Role:
Position: Yard Operations Manager
Location: Bolyard Lumber & Design, 777 S. Eton St., Birmingham, MI 48009
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of lumber and building material warehouse and yard
- Supervise warehouse and yard staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Manage supply chain logistics from yard/warehouse through delivery to the customer – receiving, dispatching, shipping, and delivery
- Maintain a clean and organized yard and warehouse
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain yard and warehouse equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to service customers, coordinate deliveries, and streamline operations
- Ensure optimal customer service levels and help resolve customer issues
Qualifications:
- Operations management experience required (3-5 years preferred)
- Experience in transportation management and optimizing logistics processes
- Computer skills
- Building materials industry experience preferred
- Experience and knowledge of warehouse and yard equipment
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work in an outdoor environment
- Knowledge of safety protocols
