Job Title: Functional Lead
Job Type: 3-5-year Contract
Job Location: Remote; PST timezone
Pay: Up to $43 per hour
Role Overview:
The Functional Leads will be responsible for managing key functional areas within the payroll system modernization project. They will ensure that each component meets both business and technical requirements, while closely collaborating with clients on business process reengineering and requirements analysis. These roles are crucial for the successful delivery of both functional and non-functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead specific workstreams in areas such as ACA compliance, Annual Payroll, Position Control, and Warrant Reconciliation.
- Organize, facilitate, and collaborate with clients on business process reengineering initiatives.
- Translate business needs into comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements.
- Ensure successful delivery of project components by working closely with technical teams on the proper implementation of the solution.
- Perform in-depth analysis to support and manage business rules and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience in business analysis, including experience leading business process reengineering and requirements analysis with clients.
- At least five (5) years of experience applying analytical processes on IT projects, with a minimum of three (3) years focused on business systems analysis and design.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Project Management and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices.
- Current certification in Lean Six Sigma or an equivalent process improvement methodology.
Certification Requirements:
- Must hold active certification in at least one (1) of the following:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
- Must hold active certification in at least one (1) of the following:
- International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®), or
- Certified Software Tester.
- Must hold active certification in at least one (1) of the following from an industry-recognized organization:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), or
- PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA®).
Additional Skills:
- Strong communication and leadership abilities with proven experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Experience working on large-scale government projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ERP Human Capital Management (HCM) implementations, particularly in Oracle or Workday, is advantageous.
Requirements:
- Must be available to travel to California for periodic monthly meetings.
- Candidates must provide references that cover their years of experience in similar roles.
