About the Role:
Our law firm in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a skilled Application Engineer to join our IT team. You will play a pivotal role in integrating, updating, and supporting our firm's critical management applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of tools and technologies, from financial systems to practice-specific tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Management: Implement, reconfigure, upgrade, and maintain our management applications, including Elite 3E, Intapp, Concur, Iridium, Aderant CompuLaw, and Foundations.
- Technical Infrastructure: Administer underlying platforms like Microsoft SQL, SSRS, SSIS, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Windows Servers.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with departments and stakeholders during projects and system upgrades, assessing and communicating risks.
- Monthly Maintenance: Participate in month-end tasks like Windows updates, SQL maintenance, query optimization, and security patching.
- Testing and Documentation: Test applications during system changes and enhancements and document system configurations, integrations, and disaster recovery processes.
- Support: Resolve support requests, create how-to guides, and communicate project statuses and issues.
- Performance Optimization: Track and optimize system performance and storage utilization, planning for necessary upgrades.
- Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate new tools to improve our application stack.
Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL administration, data querying, and reporting skills (SSRS) are essential.
- Application Experience: 3+ years of experience operating accounting, time tracking, billing, and management software in a legal or professional services firm is highly preferred.
- Elite 3E Expertise: Fluency in the Elite 3E SQL database schema is a plus, along with experience with Elite 3E Templates, Workspace, BizTalk, Application Framework, and Solutions Manager.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in XML/XSLT transformation and some combination of PowerShell, C#, Visual Basic .Net, HTML5, or other programming or scripting languages is beneficial.
- Technical Foundation: Solid technical understanding with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
- Soft Skills: Self-motivation, excellent time management, strong analytical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Education: 4-year college degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
