Summary
Primarily responsible for the set-up and follow-up of inbound and outbound external carriers for any and all shipments into and out of the Ole Smoky production facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with overseeing and managing the general set-up & follow-up of carrier transportation.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining any and all paperwork relative to carrier pick-ups and shipments: Bill of Lading’s, Packing Slips, SLI’s, etc.
- Helps to keep the shipping calendar up to date as changes and updates occur on a daily basis.
- Works closely with both warehouse and production departments to ensure proper transportation scheduling.
- Data Entry into the TMS Systems and NetSuite.
- Perform other logistics and transportation projects and duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Transportation is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experiences in a Logistics Transportation role.
- Exceptional use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Attention to detail and high level of performance accuracy.
- Very effective organizational & time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to follow chain of command and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
- Excellent judgement & decision-making skills.
- Ability to be proactive, multi-task, & follow-up.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Regularly required to sit and work on a computer.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or listen to others.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
