JOB SUMMARY
Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving prescriptions from physicians or other qualified prescribers; types labels, keeps inventory control, and performs various other technical duties of the pharmacy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews all outpatients billing on a daily basis.
Organizes outdated or overstocked medications to ship back to the manufacturer or wholesaler for credit on a regular basis. Assures proper credit is received from the wholesalers and maintains a file on credit memos from the wholesalers.
Maintains updated ordering information concerning phone numbers, location, etc. of different pharmaceutical companies for medications not ordered from the wholesaler.
Maintains proper records associated with prepackaging.
Maintains all stock level and order stickers for all formulary items.
Assures the proper amount of chemo medication is ordered and on hand for next week's chemo regimes.
Reviews stock on hand and initiates orders from outside vendors for supplies as needed; receives supplies noting and initiating corrective actions for incorrect items or amounts received; inventories for outdates and sends outdated medications back to appropriate resources
Aseptically admixes parenteral products such as large volume parenterals, IV piggybacks and total parenteral nutrition bags
Picks medications and loads them into automated dispensing units for various hospital locations. Trouble shoots error messages
Selects correct medication from storage area and places it into packager, repackages drug from bulk to specified amounts and containers
Work under the supervision of the Pharmacy manager and will be responsible for performing tasks for inventory control, parenteral product preparation, automated dispensing unit operation and fill, and medication packing and barcoding.
Work will include working at least one weekend/month and some holidays.
Demonstrate cooperative working relationship with all hospital staff and maintain/promote positive pharmacy team spirit.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Certified Pharmacy Technician with Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy, or Tech-in-training License.
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Completion of Aseptic Technique, Hazardous Medication and Chemotherapy (if applicable) Annual Competencies
Maintain 15 hours of continuing education annually
Work schedule will include at least one weekend/month and some holidays.

Schedule: Full Time, Variable, 6:30-5p, 7:30-6p weekdays; and 7-5p weekends
