Job Title: Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Commercial Trader
Position Overview:
We are looking for an accomplished NGL Commercial Trader to join our dynamic Trading & Marketing division. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in NGL markets, coupled with a strong network of industry relationships. This position will focus on driving commercial strategies, expanding market presence, and contributing to the overall growth and profitability of the organization, all while ensuring seamless communication and collaboration within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead negotiations and execute both physical and financial contracts for the purchase and sale of NGLs, while providing cross-functional support where needed.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of North American NGL infrastructure to uncover new trading and market expansion opportunities.
- Conduct thorough market research to anticipate price movements and margin trends, providing insights to support trading decisions and profitability targets.
- Devise and implement strategies to manage market and book position risks, ensuring appropriate hedging measures are in place.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, logistics, and operations to ensure an integrated approach to trading and business activities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, from suppliers to customers, and actively participate in industry events to identify growth avenues.
- Support business development efforts, from opportunity analysis through to deal execution.
- Work closely with logistics and operations to optimize the use of transportation and storage assets, including fractionation, pipelines, terminals, trucks, and rail.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in NGL marketing and trading, with a comprehensive understanding of both physical and derivative markets.
- Expertise in the fundamentals of NGL markets, including pricing, supply-demand dynamics, and a strong grasp of financial instruments related to NGLs and crude.
- Proven success in high-pressure trading environments, with a strong preference for experience in heavier NGLs and butane.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a strategic focus in a fast-moving environment.
