Senior Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, roads, and utilities, for a leading general contractor in the Houston, TX area. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience managing construction projects exceeding $20M in highways, bridges, roads, or utilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Valid driver’s license for frequent travel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to calculate figures such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Physical ability to maneuver minor obstacles at construction sites by foot.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule Management: Lead the management of project schedules using Primavera P6, adjusting timelines as needed to meet deadlines.
- Project Ownership: Take full ownership of the Project P&L, ensuring successful execution within budget and on schedule.
- Safety: Enforce and uphold a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Personnel Management: Supervise, mentor, and manage project personnel, including their training and development.
- Owner Relationship: Build and maintain strong working relationships with the owner or their representative.
- Project Planning: Strategically plan and oversee the execution of work according to project specifications, contracts, and plans.
- Subcontractor Management: Select and manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring strict financial control.
- Field Activities: Oversee and coordinate daily field activities to ensure efficient project progression.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project records and manage all close-out procedures effectively.
