Tool & Die Maker
Pay: $22-$25
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
Position Overview:
Build and repair tools for punch and brake presses in a short-to-medium-run job shop in the metal stamping and fabrication industry.
Position Description:
- Create simple to complex forming, semi-permanent, and/or progressive dies.
- Perform simple to complex layout work and jig boring.
- May assist with setup activities to produce quality parts.
- Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment.
- Comply with all company policies.
- Notify the supervisor or lead person of any problems, concerns, or questions.
- Keep the work area clean and free of hazards.
- Follow special job instructions as communicated by the supervisor or lead person and as noted on job cards.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a related technical school course is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of shop math, including trigonometry.
- Capable of building/repairing tools based on the part’s blueprint or minimal work instruction.
- Able to read and interpret parts’ blueprints.
- Ability to read and understand English for interpreting job cards and prints.
- 5 years minimum experience in making stage tooling is desired; 1-2 years minimum experience in making progressing dies.
- Press room/stamping press experience is strongly preferred.
- Willing and able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
