The Senior Information Technology Systems Administrator is responsible for day-to-day maintenance of local area network hardware and administering IT systems. They will play a role in coordinating upgrade initiatives, upgrading systems with the latest versions of software and the rollout of new hardware and training.
The Senior Information Technology Systems Administrator is responsible for the following:
- Evaluating risk, developing network recovery and backup processes
- Assessing and purchasing new and replacement hardware
- Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulations
- Testing, troubleshooting and adjusting information systems to operate effectively
- Assisting implementation of security of the network, data and its storage and communication systems
- Assisting on network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols. Keeping documentation up to date.
- Establishing network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls
- Responding in a timely fashion to end users’ tickets and concerns.
- Overseeing the setup of users in Active Directory/Azure, and VoIP Telecommunications, among other systems.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical problems to prevent problem escalation and provide solution tracking.
- Maintaining logs for software and firmware updates, service contracts, support contracts, and passwords.
- Monitoring and updating antivirus software, review and remove threats when detected.
- Training groups and individuals in a team environment.
- Handling multiple project responsibilities simultaneously to prioritize work and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur.

Preferred Specific Systems experience:
MS Azure, MS AD, MS O365, Dell PowerEdge Servers and Ubiquiti Switches, VLAN, VMWare Host and Virtual Servers VoIP cloud systems, Sophos EndPoint Security and Control, Trust Wave Security Services, Sophos MDR/XDR.
