We are looking for a Cloud Network Security Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our network infrastructure. You would be part of our Infrastructure and Cloud Services team responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
Onsite 5 days a week in Montgomery, AL
Candidate must have experience with Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing and using Tenable, Nessus, and Splunk
We’re seeking a Network/Security Engineer to join our team and ensure our rapidly growing platform remains secure for users statewide. In this role, you’ll handle security assessments and prioritize remediation actions. You would be part of our Infrastructure and Cloud Services team responsible for designing, developing, and securing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
Responsibilities
- Process and prioritize security assessment reports
- Design and maintain security controls for applications and infrastructure
- Implement WAF configurations, network segregation, and device security
- Enhance security monitoring and detection systems
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, wireless Client, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Ensuring the organization follows the regulatory requirements related to information security
- Documenting any security breaches and assessing the damage
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the department’s security team
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Requirements and skills
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with application, system, and network security
- Azure networking experience
- Experience using Tenable, Nessus, Splunk, etc. highly valued
- CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Strong knowledge of security fundamentals and best practices
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related subject highly valued
- Experience with Aruba switches and access points, and Fortinet routers, switches, and access points highly valued
- Excellent communication skills in English
