An Onsite Safety/HR Associate is a professional responsible for ensuring a safe working environment where safety is a critical concern. The role involves monitoring safety practices, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety among employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Training and Education: Provide safety training to employees and contractors, ensuring they are aware of safety protocols, the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. The associate identifies root causes and implements corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the site complies with local, state, and federal safety regulations. This may include maintaining records, submitting required reports, and staying up to date with changing safety regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Team Collaboration: Providing support to Onsite HR Generalist and assisting Safety Specialist.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols.
- Safety Culture Promotion: Work to instill a safety-first mindset among all employees and contractors on-site through regular communication, training, and reinforcement of safety policies.
- PPE Management: Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment is available, in good condition, and used correctly by all personnel.
- Coordination with Management: Collaborate with USA Safety Specialist and site management to integrate safety into all aspects of operations and to address any safety concerns that arise.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and improve safety practices and procedures to enhance overall safety performance on site.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of safety regulations and HR best practices is strongly desired.
- Prior forklift experience.
- Strong observational and analytical skills
- Effective communication and training abilities
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Certification in occupational safety, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification, a plus but not required.
- Ability to work overtime as needed including evenings and weekends.
- Prior experience working in a food processing environment desired.
- Bilingual English/Spanish language and literacy skills required.
Pay Range:
$26-$30 per hour DOE
Health Insurance:
Medical- United Staffing funds 100% of the monthly premiums for employees, and 50% for qualifying dependents. Any costs for dependents are deducted from paycheck on pre-tax basis.
Dental- United Staffing funds 100% of the monthly premiums for employees, and 50% for qualifying dependents. Any costs for dependents are deducted from paycheck on pre-tax basis.
Vision- 100% funded by employee. Cost is deducted from paycheck on pre-tax basis.
Life- $25,000 for Life + $25,000 AD&D- 100% funded by United Staffing
Vacation:
10 paid vacation days per year. Accrual begins with 1st day of regular full-time employment; may start using accrued vacation after 90 days.
Paid Sick Leave:
Employees receive 6 sick days per year on Jan 1; employees who begin their employment after 1/1 will receive a prorated amount of sick days for the year.
Holidays:
USA observes 6 paid holidays a year: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.

Salary Deferral 401(k) Plan; this plans permits rollovers. No match at this time.
