Summary: The Golden Apple Foundation is seeking aManager of Undergraduate Scholar Support Services in Michigan to ensure all undergraduate Scholars remain on-track to graduate with their undergraduate degree in teaching by addressing the requisite support necessary to achieving this goal.
Reports to: Michigan, Chief Program Officer
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to assess, design, implement, monitor, and evaluate the requisite support services for the Undergraduate Scholars.
- In conjunction with the Chief Program Officer, build and manage relationships with all third-party support services providers, including but not limited to University Liaisons at their respective campuses.
- Measure the success of our undergraduate Scholars individually and collectively to improve our undergraduate graduation and persistence rates.
- Collect necessary undergraduate performance data (e.g., academic transcripts) and ensure comprehensive and accurate record-keeping in our master system of record.
- Visit universities and colleges across Michigan to support Scholars and maintain a working understanding of resources/supports available to Scholars on campus.
- Lead monthly status meetings with Senior Leadership regarding Scholar updates.
- Facilitate the delivery and design of requisite professional development for undergraduate Scholars via Scholar Institutes (professional development sessions in the summer) and other opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Golden Apple to ensure smooth transitions and hand-offs.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Chief Program Officer, and/or the Senior Leadership team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Experience in K-12 education or academic coaching strongly preferred
- Strong entrepreneurial attitude including drive for results and proven ability to stay focused on goals; ability to prioritize competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong computer and internet proficiency, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google G-Suite, and database applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with undergraduate students and external partners; strong written communication and presentation skills
- Possess strong organizational and project management skills, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with attention to detail
- Willing to travel throughout Michigan up to 50% of the time
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and evolve; ability to reflect on processes and make improvements
- Able to work independently, including, at times, outside of regular working hours
- Able to communicate and collaborate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members
- Ability to engage in self-reflection and participate professionally in constructive conversations
- Must be a Michigan resident
