Summary:
The Working Trailer Shop Manager will assist and manage the Trailer Technicians by establishing and maintaining a robust service system that guarantees prompt and personalized customer assistance by delivering exceptional service.
Essential Functions:
- Works closely with the Trailer Technicians by performing repairs, diagnosing issues, solving technical problems and determining proper solutions
- Hires, trains and manages the performance of Trailer Technicians to ensure they’re performing their job duties at a high level and upholding the company’s Core Values
- Assigns and oversees job duties to Trailer Technicians
- Engages with customers by answering inquiries (technical, scheduling and pricing) and traveling to customers to provide service estimates
- Provides updates to the Branch Manager and Leadership Team on department performance
- Develops and implements service strategies to meet the customers’ needs and improve service quality
- Maintains appropriate communication within and between various departments and functional areas within the organization
- Promotes and exemplifies a safe working environment, manages a clean working space and handles any tooling issues that arise
- Adheres to company policies and procedures, including compliance with state, federal, OSHA and DOT regulations
Experience:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
- Technical degree or certification is a plus
- Supervising and managing employees
- Working with part crossovers, fasteners, and hidden body components
- Suspension identification (Types & Components)
- Trailer identification (Makes & Models)
- Semi-Trailer or Truck industry (3-5 years of experience preferred)
