Penta Search Group has been engaged by one of our Manufacturing clients to identify a Senior Director of Procurement to lead global procurement across direct and indirect categories. This role will also have responsibility for demand management, supply analysis/strategy, supplier identification, sourcing execution, contract negotiation, delivery planning and monitoring, purchase execution, and ongoing performance management and improvement. The Senior Director of Procurement will identify internal and external threats and opportunities, developing strategies to counteract, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of required goods and services at best total landed cost.
This person should possess a sound understanding of business law, legal contracts, and various financial issues including cash flow and working capital. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this role will provide strategic thought leadership, influence, and hands-on engagement to lead strategic sourcing & supply management.
Responsibilities:
- Translate business objectives into global sourcing strategies to drive performance and growth.
- Lead and develop a high-performing, globally aware supply management team.
- Achieve material productivity, working capital reduction, and supplier quality.
- Manage supplier relationships, risk reduction, and performance metrics.
- Oversee global purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, inventory, and warehouse management.
- Identify gaps and opportunities, and develop implementation plans.
- Monitor and manage supply chain risks and geopolitical impacts.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies, including investment and resource needs.
- Stay updated on market trends influencing supply requirements and develop new suppliers.
- Maintain metrics for functional management and senior leadership review.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and support Supplier Diversity initiatives.
- Partner with IT/Finance/Legal in contract administration.
Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement or Business Administration; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years in global procurement with experience in strategic planning.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven leadership in enhancing team performance.
- Up to 30% travel required.
