- Contract Duration: 3-months, potential for extensions
- Worksite Location: Plymouth, Minnesota – onsite training for 4 weeks, then hybrid 3 days per week, local candidates only.
- Hourly Rate: $24-27/hr W2
Position Overview:
Actively manage Parts, Garments & Accessories (PG&A) suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products to Polaris distribution facilities. Coordinate with demand planning analysts to ensure the proper quantities are purchased to achieve strategic inventory and service level objectives to meet customer needs.
What you’ll do as the Assistant Purchasing Analyst:
- Develop and foster relationships with select suppliers to drive consistent performance and improve back-order recovery
- Review system recommended purchase quantities collaborating with demand planning analysts to improve accuracy
- Approve purchase orders, ensure on-time delivery by reviewing expedite, defer, and cancel messages as necessary to achieve fill-rate and inventory goals
- Resolve backorder issues in accordance with goals
- Work directly with suppliers to ensure system data integrity (cost, MOQ, lead-time, etc..)
- Negotiate cost, lead time, minimum and economic order quantities to Polaris’ benefit
- Coordinate and communicate with multiple departments to achieve business goals
- Proactively identify and communicate urgent issues to supervisor
- Other projects and duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to the Assistant Purchasing Analyst role:
- 1+ year of supply chain or relevant experience (logistics, e-comm, merchandising, sourcing, vendor management)
- Associate’s degree required, bachelor's degree preferred (supply chain or similar preferred)
- Foundational knowledge in supply chain management (i.e. MRP, logistics, and inventory management)
- Aptitude to solve problems and improve processes
- Ability to negotiate, influence and resolve conflict with diplomacy and partnership
- Organization and communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with a minimum level of supervision
