Key Responsibilities of the Litigation Paralegal:
- Conduct thorough cite and fact-checking of legal briefs for both Federal and State court filings.
- Efficiently organize and track client documents, ensuring they are accurately filed and readily accessible.
- Lead the coordination and upkeep of document review databases, ensuring they meet court and firm standards.
- Assist with the review and production of documents, playing a critical role in compliance and quality control.
- Prepare for and support attorneys during depositions, hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Maintain effective communication with attorneys, staff, and clients, ensuring all interactions respect confidentiality protocols.
- Aid attorneys with case management by drafting and editing legal documents, correspondence, and various other materials.
- Manage the e-filing process for Federal and State courts, ensuring all submissions are completed promptly.
- Track and oversee case deadlines, ensuring that court filings are submitted on time and without error.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and assist in the development of legal arguments and motions.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and supporting litigation activities.
- Utilize Relativity or other legal database software for efficient document review and case management.
- Ensure all citations conform to the Bluebook citation standards, maintaining the accuracy and professionalism of legal documents.
Qualifications of the Litigation Paralegal:
- A Bachelor’s Degree coupled with certification in Paralegal Studies.
- A minimum of five years of hands-on experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Expertise in e-filing for both Federal and State courts.
- Proven experience handling cases in Federal and State courts, as well as before administrative agencies.
- A proactive, self-motivated individual with exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with a knack for accuracy and thoroughness.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while excelling in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in using Relativity or other legal document management software.
- Familiarity with the Bluebook system of citation, ensuring high standards of legal writing.
