Job Posting: Business Analyst 3
Location: Hybrid - Austin, Texas (80% - 100% Remote, with On-Site Requirements)
Duration: Long term contract

Description of Services: We are seeking a Business Analyst 3 to support multiple projects that enhance outcomes for Texas students. This senior-level position involves performing advanced business analysis work and may be assigned to special projects. The Business Analyst will act as the liaison between the program/customer community and the software development team, managing requirements throughout the software development life cycle. Responsibilities include ensuring the fulfilment of all requirements, including post-implementation enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elicit requirements from customer interviews and create well-written system requirements documents.
- Manage requirements through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Perform business process re-engineering and software process flow improvements.
- Develop user stories and use cases conforming to business analysis best practices.
- Design mock-ups and/or wireframes according to UX best practices.
- Communicate effectively and facilitate discussions.
- Write and organize documentation clearly and accurately.
Minimum Requirements:
- 8 years of experience in eliciting requirements, creating system requirements documents.
- 8 years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
- 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases.
- 8 years of experience designing mock-ups and/or wireframes.
- 5 years of strong communication and facilitation skills.
- 5 years of strong writing and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience with requirements management software "Modern Requirements".
- 3 years of experience with issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira".
- 2 years of experience working with Texas Education Agency or a similar state or local education agency.
Work Hours and Location:
- Services will be provided during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays.
- The primary work location is hybrid, with 80% - 100% remote work and occasional on-site requirements in Austin, Texas.
- Any travel, per diem, parking, and living expenses are the responsibility of the candidate or vendor. Pre-approved travel expenses will comply with State of Texas rules and require original receipts.
- The candidate may be required to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with pre-approval from the client. Payment for hours exceeding 40 per week will be at the hourly rate quoted and must be pre-approved.
