Our client is a technology company in the oil and gas industry and has offices in multiple locations in the US and Canada. We are looking for a Panel Shop Manager who will be responsible for directing a team in the assembly and delivery of industrial control panels for automation systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team in building industrial control panels.
- Understand and follow schematics and diagrams for installing parts, wires, and components.
- Route and bundle wires and cables neatly to meet wiring standards.
- Read and interpret instructional drawings and schematics.
- Apply knowledge of UL 508A standards and practices.
- Understand wire types and sizes, as well as the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of electrical fundamentals.
- Maintain red line drawing mark-ups for changes during fabrication and communicate them to the appropriate parties.
- Update and maintain procedures and training materials for the team.
- Keep an organized and clean workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Job Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the Electrical Field
- Proficiency with blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and point-to-point drawings.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Professional demeanor and effective communication with both internal and external contacts.
- Dedication, hard work ethic, focus, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent color vision for identifying wires by color.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and proficiency in their use and maintenance.
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
