Amundsen Davis, a full-service business law firm, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our team in managing a diverse caseload of litigation matters. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of the litigation process and work closely with attorneys to provide exceptional legal support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- File legal documents with state and federal courts, including electronic filings, and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Assist attorneys in managing all aspects of litigation cases from inception to resolution, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining the case calendar.
- Coordinate the discovery process, including document review and productions.
- Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to corporate history and litigation matters.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, mediations and arbitrations by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating with witnesses and experts.
- Maintain electronic and physical case files, ensuring that all documents are properly organized, indexed, and easily accessible.
Required Competencies, Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution preferred.
- 5+ years of experience working as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department, preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing..
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal software, document management software (Relativity and DISCO) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
