The Financial Analyst position provides analysis and underwriting of commercial properties and prepares the supporting models and presentable written content to support the analysis.
JOB DUTIES:
- Reviewing financial statements and other documents and data provided by clients
- Analyzing financial information and inputting financial data into financial models
- Analysis of unit-level expense reimbursements and reconciliation documents
- Formulating underwriting questions for follow-up with clients
- Preparing financial models in Microsoft Excel
- Creating advanced models and cash flow projections
- Calculating property-specific financial metrics such as cash-on-cash return, leveraged IRR, debt service coverage ratios, loan constants, weighted average lease term remaining (WALT), etc.
- Translating financial data and underwriting models into a presentable format using Adobe InDesign
- Abstracting commercial leases for important financial data and legal language
- Abstracting loan spec sheets and loan documents for key loan data
- Creating other financial models as needed including PV/NPV, DCF
- Formulating written financial highlights and key financial metrics of deals
- Researching company financial data via Yahoo Finance, SEC.gov, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, business, statistics, mathematics, or other similar fields
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Prior work experience as a financial analyst specifically with real estate underwriting, finance, or valuations, is a plus.
- Experience in ARGUS DCF, ARGUS Enterprise, and/or Adobe InDesign is a plus
