Role Overview & Purpose:
The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of company projects. They will ensure that customer expectations are met by assessing and responding to customer needs and proactively identifying issues to be resolved.
This is an onsite, in-office role at our scenic Park City, Utah, Corporate Headquarters. We are located at the Kimball Junction exit on the SE side of I-80. Hybrid and remote work are not currently available for this role.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Coordinate project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
Manages project material procurement in a manner consistent with the delivery schedule.
Responsible for addressing vendor and client RFI’s.
Oversee vendor and in-house contract closure submittal requirements.
Through a robust understanding of the contract scope; including shop drawings, design, and schedule, coordinate with vendors and project team to avoid scope variances or prepare necessary change orders for scope changes.
Partner with the engineering detailer as needed, ensuring that the submittal dates support the project schedule.
Organizes and facilitates pre-construction planning meetings and/or client OAC meetings.
Review plans and specifications for completeness and accuracy. Alert the design team to any variances or field changes to maintain accurate as-built drawings.
Ensure that the management of each project aligns with Western Steel’s Four Points of Distinction.
Negotiate and collaborate with team members for exceptional project results.
Maintain and manage client delivery expectations.
Familiarity with industry technology and programs such as Trimble, Bluebeam, Tekla, ProCore, Textura, AutoCAD, BIM software, etc.
Update and maintain cost variation, schedule tracking, and assist with monthly draw preparations.
Travel to project sites (as needed) to assist in the completion of the on-site inventory of materials.
What you will bring to the team:
5-10 years of construction experience, with the ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, bid documents, and contracts.
Proven experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.
Degree in engineering, construction management, or business management (preferred).
Strong knowledge of all phases of the commercial building construction process, including pre-construction through closeout
Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally with co-workers and externally with clients, subcontractors, and other industry partners.
Strong financial acumen and project budget management skills.
Dependable work ethic, excellent time management, and consistent follow-through.
Exceptional organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Desire to learn and flexibility to accept new challenges and assignments.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range is $100k - $120k DOE.
Eligible for discretionary project team bonus structure.
