JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator 2 - Specially Designed Instruction in Special Education is responsible for ensuring implementation of evidence-based dyslexia instruction to meet the needs of students identified with dyslexia services in accordance with the Texas Dyslexia Handbook and district dyslexia policies and procedures. The Coordinator 2 - Specially Designed Instruction develops systems to monitor PEIMS coding and professional development for staff to improve compliance. The Coordinator 2 - Specially Designed Instruction serves as an instructional leader and resource in the development and improvement of district dyslexia programming. The Coordinator 2 - Specially Designed Instruction ensures the monitoring of student accounting records, progress monitoring and reports in compliance with state and local guidelines for assigned campuses.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Master’s Degree, preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years teaching experience in general education or special education.
- Campus/district leadership experience preferred.
- Texas Teaching Certification with Reading Specialist Certification or certification in a multi-sensory structured language program for dyslexia
Knowledge of dyslexia and instruction of students identified with dyslexia and related disorders
