Key Responsibilities:
- Manage attorney calendars and tickler systems, ensuring deadlines and meetings are never missed.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with clients, experts, attorneys, and co-counsel, including court appearances.
- Review, organize, and re-index mail for attorney action, maintaining strict deadlines.
- Draft and compose professional correspondence and memos.
- Prepare and file discovery, pre-trial, and trial documents, ensuring all materials meet court standards. California and Federal e-filing experience is a must!
- Maintain and organize electronic legal files with precision and confidentiality.
- Assist in trial preparation and coordinate discovery processes for both plaintiffs and defendants.
- Provide comprehensive legal secretarial support, including transcription and phone call management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in defense trial and litigation, with at least 3 years in recent California Civil litigation.
- Proven trial preparation experience.
- Proficiency in MS Word and case management software; typing speed of 70+ wpm.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding of court rules and procedures.
Salary Range:
- $75,000 - $92,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
