Simile Construction Service, Inc. is a recognized leader in the Design-Build commercial construction industry. Headquartered in Modesto, California, Simile's sphere of operations includes Northern and Central California. Simile is looking for a skilled and experienced Superintendent to lead and coordinate new construction projects. Project assignments may include the need to travel up to 4 hours from Simile's base of operation in Modesto.
The Superintendent will work closely with the project manager to ensure timely and quality completion of construction process. The individual must be able to thoroughly understand the construction process, techniques and construction documents. Applicants must also have a solution-oriented mindset; an aptitude for teamwork; good time management skills; excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills; the ability to achieve schedule deadlines while maintaining a quality and safe construction environment;
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction as a Superintendent. Candidate should also have a high school diploma or GED, Construction Management Degree preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is needed, with Microsoft Project preferred.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Supervise projects by coordinating client needs, construction documents and Subcontractor performance
-Construction scheduling and updating throughout project
-Document daily construction activities
-Conduct weekly meeting with subs
-Prepare and distribute weekly field reports to show job progress
-Schedule delivery and pickup of equipment
-Schedule and follow through all inspections and project finals
-Conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure jobsite safety maintained at all times.
-Must work closely with Project Manager to assure all Change Orders and RFIs are kept up with and distributed in a timely manner
