A Commercial real estate company is seeking an experienced Building Engineer with Commercial Building HVAC skills to join their team! This is a non-union position.
This position assumes total responsibility for the building. Closely monitors, identifies and communicates problems in every phase of general maintenance of the building(s), including areas of carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanic, painting, flooring, patching, general hardware, other minor building repairs and cleanliness. Makes recommendations, performs repairs, replacement maintenance and implements preventive maintenance as established by Company procedures and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the oversight of Commercial Building HVAC mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment systems, as well as preventative maintenance
- Handle day-to-day maintenance/engineering work orders and repairs
- Strong electrical and plumbing skills
- Ensure proper comfort conditions for tenants and common areas
- Our ideal candidate understands the mechanics of how commercial office buildings work and can deal professionally with building tenants and vendors
- HVAC certification is added plus
- Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the building(s).
- Supervises, trains and directs maintenance staff through work orders.
