About the position. The Project Controls Manager is responsible for managing the budget and schedule of a portfolio of projects to ensure successful delivery. This includes cost management, forecasting, schedule management, risk management, and reporting of project performance to team members, stakeholders, and executives. The Project Controls Manager will develop processes and procedures relative to cost, schedule, and risk management and reporting. The Project Controls Manager will interface with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting and lead the PO generation and invoice processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely project reporting to stakeholders, including progress updates, cost reports, and risk registers, developing the templates for reporting
- Develop, maintain, and communicate Project Controls processes and procedures
- Implement and maintain project schedules, including resource loading, critical path analysis, and progress monitoring
- Monitor and manage project risks, including the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks and opportunities
- Generate Purchase Orders and review invoices for vendors and general contractors
- Collaborate with construction managers, operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved within scope, schedule, and budget constraints
- Reviews contract drafts to ensure they include adequate cost and scope definition and meet Project Controls requirements
- Coordinates development of all data in support of contract negotiations
- Prepares, coordinates, and directs project status presentations to management, as required
- Prepares the Project Controls plan for assigned projects, including invoicing procedures, financial reporting requirements, and periodic schedule update requirements
- Provides leadership in terms of integrating the risk management process with other key project procedures (e.g. Change Management, Forecasting, Cost, Trends, and Claims) and support stakeholders in managing enterprise level activities as required.
- Provides generally non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling guidance to management.
- Identifies, analyzes, and provides innovative solutions to cost engineering and planning/scheduling problems.
What you need. To be a hero in this organization, the Cost Estimator will have:
- Demonstrated skill in directing cost engineering functions, including cost control, cost analysis, and cost estimating.
- Demonstrated skill in directing, planning, and scheduling, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
- Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for Project Controls activities.
- Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/stakeholders.
- Proficient in Excel, including MS Office Suite.
- Proficient in Oracle accounting software.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
