Job Title: Litigation Assistant
Job Description: National Law Firm seeks an experienced Litigation Assistant to join their team. The ideal Litigation Assistant possesses 3-5+ years in Intellectual Property and general civil defense litigation, has strong efiling skills on state and federal level, calendaring deadlines, and drafting reports, correspondence, and other legal documents.
Litigation Assistant Job Duties:
- Electronically file on state and federal level
- Review patent and trademark applications, reports, and documentation
- Assist with the preparation and filing of US Federal or US patent correspondence and documents
- Calendar deadlines on Microsoft Outlook for 5-7 paralegals and attorneys
- Arrange travel and catering accommodations
- Schedule meetings, conference room set ups
- Manage e-scanning, faxing, printing, and ECF filing transmittals
- Draft, redline, and proofread legal correspondence including reports
- Assist with motions, complaints, briefs, notices, form interrogatories, subpoenas, summonses, and agreements
- Mail documents and assist with phone reception, when needed
Litigation Assistant Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred OR combination of high school diploma and 3 years of experience
- 3-5+ years of Defense Litigation experience required
- 50 WPM typing speed required
- Knowledge with Microsoft Word (tables and styles), Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
- Knowledge with medical and legal terminology strongly preferred
