Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- GED or High School Diploma
- Previous experience operating overhead cranes
- Temp-to-hire position
Essential Responsibilities / Functions:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process coils through the Temper Leveling line according to equipment manufacturer’s instructions
- Perform daily routine maintenance and lubrication
- Monitor product quality against customer and ASTM specifications, adhering to SSAB’s ISO 9001 and 14001 programs
- Report all non-conforming material to the appropriate personnel
- Verify the correct product is properly positioned for consumption
- Properly identify and package the finished product as per production order or established specifications
- Record all production data in electronic or written form as required
- Report equipment problems to the maintenance department or operations manager
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Train to operate oxyfuel/plasma cutting beds
- Train to operate oxy-fuel track torches
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist maintenance as needed
Work Environment and Requirements:
Frequent Requirements:
- Sit, stand, walk, alternating up to 8 hours at a time
- Use both hands for grasping, handling, gripping, and feeling textures and temperatures
- Lift and/or move up to 35 lbs
Occasional Requirements:
- Balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb
- Bend, twist at waist level, and reach at/above shoulder level and below waist level
- Push, pull, lift, and/or carry items weighing less than 50 pounds
Vision and Hearing Capabilities:
- Vision at near, mid, and far range, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Talking and hearing in person, on a radio, and/or in group settings
Machines or Tools Used:
- Desktop computer
- Hand tools
- Overhead floor remote cranes
- Oxy-fuel hand torch
