Job Description
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for leading sealant and insulating glass technology projects, and developing innovative solutions that improve product quality, consistency, cost, and performance. The role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, technical training, and process implementation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead sealant and insulating glass technology projects.
- Design, analyze, and report on experimental studies.
- Test and validate new materials for window and door products.
- Provide technical support and training to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop novel solutions.
- Assist in implementing new manufacturing processes.
- Drive improvement efforts using statistical tools and analysis techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- BS in Chemical/Materials Science/Engineering or related field.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Project management experience and teamwork skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7-10 years of engineering or technical experience in material-centric product development and implementation.
- Strong technology leadership skills with aspirations for future people leadership.
- Working knowledge of sealants, adhesives, insulating glass, glass coatings, paints, and plastics.
- Strong analytical skills and materials analysis experience.
- Experience in the fenestration or related industry.
