Finishing Manager
Our client, a prominent player in the print manufacturing industry, providing leading service and quality, is looking for a Finishing Manager to join their team.
The Finishing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finishing department, ensuring efficient production processes, and maintaining high standards of quality across all shifts. This role involves directing the activities of shift supervisors, managing material usage, resolving quality concerns, and coordinating with other departments to meet customer requirements. The Finishing Manager will play a critical role in optimizing production schedules, reducing waste, and ensuring that all finishing operations are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Focus:
- Oversee and manage the activities of finishing department personnel, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Develop and maintain production schedules for the finishing department, coordinating with shift supervisors to ensure alignment across all shifts.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure timely completion of machine maintenance and repairs.
- Address and resolve issues related to product quality or functionality during production and inspection processes.
- Monitor and manage raw material usage, initiating orders for replenishment as needed.
- Track production waste and implement strategies to optimize material utilization and minimize waste.
- Participate in month-end inventory counts of raw materials and work-in-progress, as required.
- Handle basic human resource functions, including vacation approvals and employee performance evaluations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnel.
Skill Set:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in managing teams across multiple shifts in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on process improvements.
- Experience in the printing and finishing industry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing methodologies is a plus.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience supervising teams of 50 or more employees.
- Proficiency in computer applications and strong organizational skills.
