Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electromechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both electrical and mechanical engineering, with a focus on integrating these disciplines to design, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical systems.
A secondary goal for the candidate is a familiarity with radio frequency simulations, but this is not a requirement. A lack of familiarity with radio frequency simulation will not disqualify candidates from consideration.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test electromechanical systems and components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical components.
- Perform feasibility studies and cost analysis for electromechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electromechanical systems.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of designs, test results, and procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in electromechanical engineering.
- (If familiar with Radio Frequency (RF) Simulation)
- Develop and implement RF simulation models and algorithms for communication systems, radar systems, or RF integrated circuits.
- Conduct simulations to optimize system performance, analyze RF circuits, and troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with RF hardware and system design teams to ensure simulation results align with hardware specifications.
- Evaluate and select simulation tools and software for RF design and analysis.
- Provide technical expertise and support to cross-functional teams during product development phases.
- Document simulation methodologies, results, and recommendations for future reference.
- Stay updated on latest RF technologies, simulation techniques, and industry trends.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in electromechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD and ECAD software for design and modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electromechanical systems.
- (If familiar with Radio Frequency Simulation)
- Strong background in RF theory, electromagnetic theory, and signal processing.
- Proficiency in RF simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, Cadence Virtuoso, Ansys HFSS, or similar software.
- Experience in developing and validating RF simulation models using tools like MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
- Knowledge of communication protocols, modulation schemes, and RF system architectures.
Preferred Skills:
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with both eCAD and CAD software. Experience with Onshape and Altium experience are preferred.
- Experience with FEA software. Experience with Simscale preferred.
- Certified Electrical Engineer (CEE) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred
- (If familiar with Radio Frequency Simulation)
- Experience with RFIC design, microwave circuit design, or antenna design.
- Familiarity with RF system design considerations for wireless communications, IoT devices, or radar systems
- Knowledge of RF standards and regulations, such as FCC regulations for wireless devices.
- Proficiency in simulation software customization, scripting, or automation.
Compensation:
$90,000-$125,000 salary dependent on qualifications.
Hybrid Policy:
- This is a hybrid position requiring on site work at our Houston based laboratory, but allowing for work-from-home, remote work when available
- Applicants from outside of the Houston area would be responsible for their own relocation cost upon acceptance of the position.
