Overview: The Director of PC&L will oversee and manage all aspects of supply chain operations, including packaging, production planning, inventory management, and logistics. The role involves designing and implementing strategic plans to align with the company’s short-term and long-term objectives in supply chain management and production control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive North American supply chain strategy aligned with the company’s overarching goals.
- Manage supplier relations, logistics, production planning, customer support, systems, and the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
- Lead the deployment of Lean Manufacturing approaches across North American operations, with a focus on developing lean leaders and enhancing problem-solving processes through training and hands-on application of lean tools.
- Spearhead the development and execution of Industry 4.0 standards and processes.
- Ensure high-quality, customer-focused logistics services and project realization.
- Monitor, report, and analyze benchmark and efficiency data, driving awareness of metrics and improvement opportunities to meet monthly and annual targets.
- Conduct audits and implement improvements across all North American plant supply chain processes.
- Oversee all functions related to purchasing, planning, warehousing, and control of materials, ensuring optimal performance based on key metrics and minimizing supply chain risks.
- Formulate and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance the value of the supply chain function.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and uphold ethical standards in supply chain operations.
- Lead and mentor the supply chain team in maintaining high standards in supply chain management, quality control, and safety.
- Continuously develop and refine supplier programs to improve performance and efficiency.
- Participate in product planning processes to ensure timely acquisition of materials for new product launches.
- Manage departmental budgets and establish annual goals, ensuring performance targets are met.
- Drive the development and succession planning of the Supply Chain team at both regional and plant levels to achieve industry benchmark standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or commercial field (MBA preferred).
- 10-15 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management within the Automotive industry.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work in various environments, including industrial manufacturing plants.
- Adaptable and flexible with a capacity to manage changing priorities.
- Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities.
- Proven negotiation, project management, and leadership skills.
