Job Description – Systems Reliability Engineer
Lead the design, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of a complex instrument comprising optical, electrical, mechanical, and fluidic modules and subsystems. Drive the analysis of complex system issues to help define the integration and test strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and analyze system issues involving optics, fluidics, precision motion, and thermal control.
- Assess risks and reliability of complex instruments.
- Support System Reliability Modeling with data inputs and design details.
- Analyze system failure data to improve reliability metrics like Uptime, MTBF, and MTBR.
- Propose design changes to enhance instrument robustness.
- Develop performance evaluation criteria.
- Conduct root cause analysis and failure mode and effects analysis.
- Create and deliver reliability test plans and reports.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Optical Engineering, Physics, Bioengineering, or related field.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in integrating complex electro-mechanical instruments.
- Knowledge of fluidics design and integration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Experience in designing and debugging complex hardware.
- Familiarity with manufacturing tests and scripting languages.
- Proficient in reading technical schematics and drawings.
- Experience with test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and laser power meters.
