We are seeking a talented individual for the role of Managed Services Security Analyst. This is a full time position. Candidates must live in the service area and report to the Meridian office. This role reports to the Help Desk Manager and Services Manager.
The Managed Services Security Analyst will be responsible for providing frontline security support to clients as part of a Managed Services Provider (MSP) team. The role involves monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents, troubleshooting security-related issues, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. The analyst will work closely with clients, internal IT teams, and third-party vendors to safeguard information systems.
Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm in-office or onsite with rotational on-call scheduling for work after-hours and on weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Security Monitoring & Incident Response-monitor client networks, systems, and applications for security incidents using security information and event management (SIEM) tools
- Analyze and respond to security alerts, perform initial triage, and escalate issues as necessary
- Investigate security breaches and work to mitigate the impact, implementing corrective measures
- Document and report incidents following the organization's incident response plan
- Client Support & Troubleshooting- provide technical support to clients on security-related issues via phone, email, and remote access tools
- Assist clients in configuring and optimizing security settings on their systems and networks
- Troubleshoot and resolve security incidents and vulnerabilities in a timely manner
- Educate and guide clients on security best practices and compliance requirements
- Security Compliance & Reporting-assist clients in adhering to regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS
- Generate and maintain security reports, including vulnerability assessments and risk analyses
- Perform regular audits and assessments to ensure clients’ systems are compliant with security policies
- Collaboration & Communication-work closely with internal IT teams, clients, and third-party vendors to resolve security issues
- Communicate security issues, incidents, and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in regular security training and awareness programs for clients and internal teams
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing security policies and procedures
- Contribute to the development of security documentation, including policies, procedures, and playbooks
- Other work-related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in IT support or help desk roles with a focus on cybersecurity
- Experience working in an MSP environment is highly desirable
- CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent certifications preferred
- ITIL certification is a plus
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat analysis, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Proficiency in using security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and SIEM solutions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on client satisfaction
- Candidate must have a valid Driver’s license and vehicle insurance
