We're seeking a skilled and experienced Land Development Field Manager to join our team and oversee our land development projects from start to finish.
Job Summary:
The Land Development Field Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of land development for our residential projects in Albuquerque and surrounding areas. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all field operations related to land development, including grading, utilities installation, road construction, and landscaping
- Manage and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and local regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with internal teams, including planning, engineering, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution
- Manage project schedules and budgets, identifying and mitigating potential delays or cost overruns
- Coordinate with local authorities for inspections, permits, and approvals
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and ongoing project meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in land development, preferably in residential construction
- Strong knowledge of land development processes, construction methods, and local building codes in Albuquerque and New Mexico
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with diverse teams
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites in the Albuquerque area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or similar professional certification
- Experience with sustainable development practices and water conservation techniques relevant to the Southwest region
- Familiarity with GIS and CAD software
