Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of Windows-based systems and servers. This role requires a deep understanding of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, group policies, virtualization technologies, and strong troubleshooting skills. The Windows System Administrator will collaborate with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of all Windows-based infrastructure and provide support to end-users as needed, as well as support Azure cloud services.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems and associated software.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and security settings.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to Windows servers and applications, as well as Azure cloud support.
- Implement security measures to safeguard Windows-based systems and data.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of Windows servers through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Perform system backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Collaborate with IT team members to design and implement infrastructure solutions.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including resolving hardware and software issues.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Windows Server technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Windows System Administrator, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019), Active Directory, and group policies.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Certifications such as MCSA: Windows Server or MCSE: Core Infrastructure are a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is desirable.
