***This position provides up to 6 months remote work before being required to relocate to the Cleveland area**
Responsible for the technical and engineering aspects of a project, ensuring that the project’s engineering-related tasks are in line with the project’s goals, requirements, and standards. Expected to work to complete projects efficiently, on time, and within budget. Most importantly, must have good teamwork skills; must contribute to the team by being respectful, communicating and cooperating with team members, and being open to helping team members as well as asking for help when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learns and uses company design and production standards.
- Is encouraged to solve problems or perform tasks using experience, judgment, and education, but is expected to ask for assistance when needed.
- Prepares calculations, designs, specifications, and reports for assigned projects.
- Inputs data into computer programs.
- Produces the drawings of the designs they prepared which were reviewed and approved by others.
- Assists in coordination of other discipline tasks and design with their own.
- Researches routine code issues.
- Estimates engineering manhours/construction cost estimates and documenting project scope.
- Performs construction support/management of simple projects.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQ
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, with specialization in Civil Engineering.
- 3+ years’ previous relevant experience.
- Experience in Civil Design, preferably with experience in stormwater design.
- Extensive experience with Civil 3D preferred.
- Project Management experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of surveying and site construction means and methods.
- Familiar with ODOT, city and county design standards as well as public and private utility design.
