Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technician services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Senior BIM & CAD Drafter/ Civil Designer to join our team for a construction project in Louisiana.

- Estimated duration of the position: 4years - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.
Responsibilities:
- Create and modify the design models for layout.
- Organize the preparation of construction drawings with the CAD technicians, engaging with the construction team.
- Draft and optimize general plan drawings.
- Participate in specialty design work as needed.
- Manage and organize CAD files. Inputting design specifications into the CAD software.
- Carry out meetings with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
- Creating surface and solid CAD models according to client specifications.
- Working with a design team and individually on CAD projects.
- Reviewing CAD models with the client and making adjustments and completes standard calculations. Knowledge to produce 2D technical drawings and 3D models for different disciplines. Conduct field visits to locate grading markers and collect data.
- Conduct final model rendering and delivering the final product.
- Support on the drafting portion of the project and the quantity takeoff activities.
- Aid the construction during the execution stage. Support all engineering activities to meet the company’s technical objectives related to design and construction.
- Identify technical risks and participate in the preparation of risk reports and in the review of the project budget forecasts, providing the necessary technical part for its realization.
- Establish and implement the design management strategy and other technical procedures for the project.
- Support in the execution stage (project assistance team to resolve nonconformities, RFI with designers and unexpected events during construction).
- Collaborate within the technical department, as well as with other departments.
- Guarantee the correct transmission of design information to the entire project team.
-Requirements:
- A minimum of 7 years experience as a CAD drafter/ Civil Designer with BIM.
- Experience in heavy civil construction projects (highways, bridges, structures) or similar.
- Experience with Revit and Microstation is an asset.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is a plus.
- Excellent technical, communication, organizational, management and planning skills.
- Excellent people and leadership skills.
- Excellent solving problems/analysis.
- Comfortable in working to tight deadlines
