Senior Estimator
One of the leading Heavy Civil and Electrical Contractors in New York is looking for a Lead Estimator to join their team on a full time basis.
About the Company
Revenues in excess of $550m per year, contracts with major clients in the public and private sector with projects ranging from underground electric utilities, railroads, bridges, concrete foundations ranging up to $100m in value.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of final estimating packages, ensuring for accuracy before quoting
- Contract negotiations, change orders
- Provide mentorship to Estimators and Junior Estimators
- Pre-qualification of subcontractors
- Material take-offs
- Budgeting, oversight of operating budgets, performance reviews
Experience Required
- At least 5 years of experience working as an Estimator
- Must have knowledge of construction contracts
- Experience with heavy civil and utility construction including public works (airport, transit and bridges), gas and electrical transmission, energy plant construction is preferred.
- Competency in HCSS heavy bid is preferred
- Excellent knowledge of construction contracts
- Strong knowledge of estimating strategies
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
This is a full time position. Compensation ranges from $160,000-$220,000 per year.
