As an automation engineer, you will specialize in designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems in a market supplying 40.9 billion dollars of automated packaging machinery worldwide to consumer-packaged goods needing to package their products as they come off their production line(s). We are looking for someone who has strong PLC programming and electrical skills to implement various industrial automation technologies into stand alone and multiple machine systems.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a reliable and adept automation engineer who is eager to break down technical problems and work hands on solve them systematically.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control system architectures and schematics using CAD based on project requirements
- Write, test and debug code for Allen-Bradley PLCs to integrate other components and program control systems
- Conduct through testing on control systems to ensure functionality, reliability and safety
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control system issues, including hardware malfunctions, software bugs, and communication errors
- Document and help source industrial components for integration
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation or related field
- Proven experience working with Allen-Bradley products and design software
- Hands on experience with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, servos, HMIs, pneumatics
- Previous experience with Fanuc or other industrial robots is a plus
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to control systems (e.g., ISA, IEC)
