We have an opening for a Quality Manager in our New Hudson, MI facility. In this role you will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the Quality Management System, plans and policies. Responsibilities also include day-to-day management of quality activities, collaboration with other departments and company locations to ensure products and processes comply to specifications, standards, and customer requirements, and consistently prompting continuous improvement of all processes toward improved quality performance and increased customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan, direct and administer Quality systems, policies, procedures, standards, and records.
- Maintain plant wide QMS compliance and registration as appropriate. Coordinate product/process audits and facilitate compliance to system, product or process certification through third party registrar organizations. Recommend corrective and preventative measures in response to non-conformances or discrepancies.
- Direct Quality Assurance day-to-day activities including, but not limited to, verification of conformance to print/process specification of manufactured and assembled parts along with parts/services performed by suppliers.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Suppliers to investigate customer quality complaints. Setup and perform experiments, inspections and analysis allowing for data driven decisions and corrective action.
- Develop, monitor and analyze customer returns, internal defects, test yields, scrap and other non-conforming conditions relating to product, process or systems followed by recommended corrective and preventive measures or actions. Utilize formalized problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D processes and action plans).
- Actively champion company-wide improvement activities to reduce waste, increase yield and improve customer satisfaction, as appropriate (e.g. Kaizen, Six Sigma, CI Methodologies, Lean and APQP) to raise the performance of the company’s product lines, drive reduction of "Cost of Poor Quality" and improve customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and direct Quality Engineers and Lab Technicians engaged in Quality Assurance department work activities. Hire, mentor, train, review work, assist employees, evaluate performance, enforce company rules and recommend changes in employee status.
- Maintain Quality KPI's and Dashboards. Lead effort to identify high impact reoccurring issues and effective corrective actions.
- Plan, direct and facilitate QC Lab and validation testing in support of new product development to verify day to day product and process conformance to specifications while investigating opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology. Master's degree preferred
- 10+ Years experience in quality management position within a manufacturing/assembly environment as a Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, and/or Supervisor in Quality.
- 5+ Years experience as a Quality Manager in a Manufacturing/Assembly environment
- Able to handle multiple priorities.
- Must possess demonstrated skills in problem solving.
- ASQ Certification preferred
