We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Human Resources Assistant with a strong focus on recruiting and daily HR operations. In this multifaced role, you will support the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and screening candidates to coordinating interviews and onboarding new hires. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to ensure the HR department runs smoothly. This role is essential in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring HR compliance.
This role is based in our headquarters in New York City on a full-time onsite capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Director of Human Resources supporting the day-to-day people operations activities and recruitment efforts.
- Utilize various platforms (job boards, social media, employee referrals) to source qualified candidates for open positions.
- Support the resume review process to identify suitable candidates, matching qualifications and job requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers, ensuring a seamless process.
- Create and post job descriptions on multiple channels, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing updates and feedback.
- Assist with onboarding new employees, including preparing offer letters, conducting reference checks, and coordinating orientation sessions.
- Maintain recruitment metrics to track the effectiveness of sourcing strategies and hiring processes.
- Assist in maintaining employee records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide support in the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and other related topics in a timely and professional manner.
- Schedule and coordinate HR meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
- Assist in preparing HR-related documents, such as agreements, reports, and proposals.
- Organize and manage both digital and physical HR files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Assist in planning and coordinating HR events and initiatives, such as employee training sessions, health and wellness initiatives, and company-wide events.
- Provide front desk coverage from time to time.
- Other ad hoc projects, as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years prior HR experience in retail preferred.
- Passion for working with people
- Self-started with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to comfortably multi-task.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with high level of integrity and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HRIS/ATS systems.
