Program Manager
Duration: 2 months (Extension/Conversion possible)
Compensation: $78/hour
Location: New York City – Hybrid (Tues/Wed/Thurs)
As a key member of the Strategy and Operations team, the Program Manager, People Program Management Office (PMO) will deliver strategic, cross-functional large-scale programs and deliver impact-driven solutions in line with the business’ strategic goals. This role will work cross-departmentally with team members at all levels, including senior leaders, to achieve successful delivery of strategic programs.
A successful candidate will be a self-motivated program manager who works collaboratively at multiple levels seamlessly and acts as a champion of the client's mission and the People team’s vision by taking ownership to deliver projects’ targeted outcomes and influencing project teams to achieve results in a matrix environment. They will ensure all team members understand the business value and objectives tied to the effort while demonstrating the client’s values. Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the management of projects and programs (both technical and non-technical)
- Scope and plan projects (identify business needs/desired outcomes, set goals and important metrics, build project plans, identify team members, identify risks and contingency planning, develop a change management plan) from project initiation through to delivery and sustain
- Identify and coordinate project stakeholders in a matrixed environment, including ensuring program teams are clear on the problem(s) and impact on our people and the business
- Work across the team to support a systematic approach to project management that is consistent with the People team’s guiding principles
- Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve dependencies, risks, and issues
- Prepare and contribute to strategy, including team and department plans
- Manage intake and prioritization processes to develop clear project turning points and roadmaps
- Support stakeholders in measuring the effectiveness and impact of projects and programs, contributing to insights on the impact of the People team
- Manage one or more key business operations processes for the People department, such as writing internal newsletters, leading monthly portfolio reviews or supporting department-wide events and experiences.
- Serve as a culture ambassador, leading with our core values and ensuring that our core values are embedded in all programs
- Support the team in managing day-to-day tasks associated with projects, including coordinating stakeholder groups, updating project trackers, conducting data analysis and preparing reporting
- Develop or demonstrate an understanding of common program and change management methodologies
- Maintain discretion when working on confidential subjects
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience leading and running large-scale, global organization-wide people-centered projects through planning, development, launch, stabilization, and close preferably in a fast-paced, global organization or the equivalent of work and education experience in a related field,
- Knowledge across multiple HR verticals (benefits, talent acquisition, training and development, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and understanding of how information can be perceived by audiences broader than yourself, especially in global contexts
- Comfortable preparing, analyzing and telling stories using large amounts of data
- Experienced with creating success measures and using data to inform decision making
- Experience supporting systems implementation projects
- Familiar with design-thinking, particularly with centering users and their experience in solutioning
