Assistant Project Managers (APM) are key to coordination between the field team, project team, and our customers. APMs are expected to maintain exceptional working partnerships with vendors and subcontractors and assist in the review and tracking of project activities, including request for proposals, change orders, submittals, tracking logs, and related project documents. In this role, you will facilitate learning for yourself and others, prepare/drive/document team meetings, and will assist the Project Manager in the day-to-day responsibilities of the project to which he/she is assigned. The Assistant Project Manager has the ability to work with limited supervision, perform routine daily activities and must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in the company’s safety program
- Support the Superintendent and Project Manager through subcontractor management to maintain schedule and project goals
- Supervise subcontractors through RFI, submittal, and shop drawing processes
- Perform reviews of design issuances, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings
- Create and manage RFIs
- Process subcontractor bonds, insurance, and pay applications
- Participate and lead project meetings as directed by the project manager
- Facilitate the quality control process
- Support the BIM process
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Engineering or minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint for use in communicating program updates and Excel to create and maintain site program & individual project budgets
- Basic construction management software use experience (i.e.: document control and schedule software, etc.)
- At least 1 year of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint for use in communicating program updates and Excel to create and maintain site program & individual project budgets

Travel Requirement
- This position requires travel commitment & on-site presence. Regardless of the candidate’s current location, the expectation is that the candidate will be present to manage construction operations on the project site.
- Projects typically last 18 - 24 months
